Levadia Transfers

Levadia is the city of Central Greece. Administratively, according to the Kallikratis Program, it belongs to the Region of Sterea Ellada, in particular to the Regional Unity of Viotia and is the seat of the Municipality of Levadees. According to the previous administrative organization, it was the capital of the Prefecture of Viotia, the formerly the homonymous province, the former Prefecture of Attica and the seat of the Kapodistrian Municipality of Levadeon. It is also the seat of the Holy Metropolis of Thiva and Levadia. The city is at an altitude of 160 meters, in the northwestern part of the prefecture, 130 kilometers northwest of Athens and 30 kilometers from the nearest coast of the prefecture (Distomo Beach, where the settlement of Aspra houses is the port). As far as the natural landscape is concerned, the location of the city is at the western end of the Copais plain, despite the desiccated homonymous lake and at the foot of Mount Helikon, which rises to the south of the city, while several northwest form a Parnassus. Extremely important in the creation and development of the city is the small river of Herceania, which leaks the city on a south-north axis to join the Makrisso River and later with the Boeotian Kifissos. The four main squares of the city of Livadeia are: Lambrou Katsoni (or Zappeion), Ethnikis Antistaseos (Central Square), Tabakas Square and Agios Meletios Square in the refugee settlement. Among the main buildings of the city are Asian Anaton, the building of the National Bank of Greece and the four main churches: Panagia Theotokou, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Georgios and Evangelistria.
