Agios Konstantinos Port Transfers
St. konstantinos Port is a picturesque harbor on the eastern coast of Attica, which services ships to northern Evia and Sporades, such as Skiathos and Skopelos. In antiquity the town was protected by long walls and was therefore the most important port in the area. In the period of the Turkish occupation many settlements were built around the ruins of the ancient city. The most important were the Vorlovos, Pox and Neochorio. After great earthquakes occurred in the area in 1894 St. konstantinos was destroyed and many houses plunged into the sea. A new town was built with much greenery along the central coastline. With the building of the new National Road in 1960, connecting Athens to Thessaloniki, the region became one of the wealthiest towns in Greece with thousands of visitors during the summer. The picturesque square of Agios Nikolaos with the outdoor theater and the ancient trees, the resort of Longos and the old church of St. konstantine with its byzantine mosaics are some of the major sights.
