Tavros is a municipal unit of the Municipality of Moschato-Tavros in the region of the Southern District of Athens in Attica. The area was named Taurus because the Asia Minor refugees who inhabited it in 1922 came from the wider area of the Taurus mountain range in Turkey and the cities of Antalya, Bayia and others. The old municipality of Tavros, which is today part of the Greater Kallikrati Municipality of Moschato - Tavros, belongs to the Southwestern part of the urban planning complex of Athens between the streets of Salamina - Petrou Ralli Avenue - Piraeus - Chamosternas - Thessaloniki - Archimedes - Anaxagoras - Piraeus - Sikiarides - Themis - Taurus - Prophet Daniel with the great homonymous stream - Eirini Avenue - Agia Anna - Salamina. It is considered to be a connecting hub between the center of Athens and Piraeus, bordering on the north with Rouf with the boundary of Salamis and Petrou Ralli Avenue, Petralona boundary with Piraeus Avenue and Chaosternas Street, eastwards with Kallithea the road to Thessaloniki and the railway lines of OSE, south to Moschato, to the west with Agios Ioannis Rentis and NW with Egaleo bounded by St. Anna Street.
