Porto Heli Transfers
Porto Heli is a seaside village and the bay of Argolida. It is located in the south of the prefecture, 85 km from Nafplion, built in a natural harbor next to the ruins of the ancient state of Alien. Portoheli belongs to the municipality of Ermionida. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Argolida and has a highly developed tourist infrastructure. It is particularly suitable for owners of sea-going boats, as the harbor has very good infrastructure and great capacity. From the port of Portokelio, boats depart for the nearby islands of Argosaronikos and the opposite coasts of Tyros and Leonidios. The name of Portokelion according to the prevailing view is due to the gradual linguistic corruption of the name "Alians", the ancient city that was in the position of today's Portochelion. The name Aliers was cracked in Chalies and then in Heli. To distinguish it from its nearby village of Heli (which today has been renamed Arachnaio) it also took the name "Porto" because it had a harbor. In another view, the name (Heli) is one of the many Arvanitian place names found in the area of southern Argolis and then acquired the prefix "Porto" for the reason mentioned above.
